Understanding High Cholesterol

What is high cholesterol, and how can nutritional therapy support you?

Cholesterol is a fatty substance found naturally in the blood, and having too much of certain types can be associated with cardiovascular concerns. High cholesterol is something your GP can diagnose through a blood test and advise you on — that medical care always comes first, and if you have been prescribed medication, it is important never to stop taking it without your doctor’s guidance.

Many people living with high cholesterol are interested in understanding how their individual diet, eating habits and day-to-day lifestyle might be affecting how they feel and their general wellbeing. Personalised nutritional therapy support may help you explore practical, realistic changes to your food choices and lifestyle — always as a complement to, never a replacement for, the care provided by your GP and medical team.

Nutritional therapy is not a medical treatment, and we don’t claim to treat, cure or prevent high cholesterol. What we offer is personalised nutrition and lifestyle support for your general wellbeing — using ordinary, accessible food and practical guidance.

For years I’d had aching joints and back pain. Emma introduced me to a way of eating tailored to me, alongside the monitoring my doctors provided. My back pain has eased, I’m far less anxious, and sleeping better than ever.

Important: Nutritional therapy is a complementary approach that supports general health and wellbeing. It is not a substitute for medical advice, diagnosis or treatment, and we do not diagnose, treat, cure or prevent high cholesterol or any other medical condition. The information on this page is for general education only. Always consult your GP or a qualified healthcare professional about any medical condition or symptom, and before changing your diet, lifestyle or supplements — particularly if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, taking medication or under medical care. Never stop or change any prescribed medication without first speaking to your doctor. Individual results vary and no specific outcome can be guaranteed.
