Constipation is far more common than many people realise β some people find they only go as infrequently as once a week, even though emptying the bowel once, or ideally twice, a day is generally seen as a helpful benchmark.
We offer personalised nutritional therapy support for people experiencing constipation β looking closely at your individual diet, hydration and everyday habits.

Constipation β infrequent, difficult or uncomfortable bowel movements β affects far more people than is often realised, and everyone’s normal is a little different. Some people find they only go as infrequently as once a week, while a general benchmark often referred to is emptying the bowel once, or ideally twice, a day. Because bowel habits are so individual, a persistent, unexplained change in your bowel habit is always worth mentioning to your GP promptly, so it can be looked at properly.
A number of everyday factors are commonly linked with constipation, including low water intake, a low-fibre diet, an imbalance in gut bacteria, low levels of certain minerals, a diet high in processed or refined foods and wheat, a sedentary lifestyle, not allowing enough time on the toilet or regularly ignoring the urge to go, ongoing stress, and an underactive thyroid.
Making thoughtful, personalised changes to nutrition and lifestyle can make a genuine difference for many people experiencing constipation, often relatively quickly. We take time to understand your individual diet, routine and circumstances, and build a realistic plan around them β always working alongside your GP rather than in place of them.
Nutritional therapy is not a medical treatment, and we don’t claim to treat, cure or prevent constipation. What we offer is personalised nutrition and lifestyle support for your general wellbeing — using ordinary, accessible food and practical guidance.

After years of stomach problems and seeing doctor after doctor, I was almost ready to give up. After my very first meeting with Emma I walked out feeling like someone had really listened — and now I feel like a completely new person. I have my life back!
I came to Emma feeling low on energy, run down and bloated. She helped me understand my body and build changes that fitted seamlessly into my life — she saw me as an individual, listened, and never judged.
